Teacher Tip: I pair this writing lesson with the book, Squirrel’s New Year’s Resolution. We discuss what a resolution is and create a class list of resolutions. For independent writing, my students used the primary lined paper option and began with the words, “I will…” I challenge them to sound out the rest of their resolution independently. Many are able to, while others needed a little assistance. Kindergarten resolutions are always quite comical!
To create the bulletin board seen in the preview photo, take your students’ photos and select from the included party hat templates to create a bulletin board to remember! Hot glue a noise maker for an added touch!
