Fall Writing Ideas for Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade
Fall is my favorite time of year. As a kindergarten teacher, it is the perfect time to have your students begin the writing process. As the children are still learning to write and identify letters, it is important to start off with simple writing activities. These activities are designed to have your kids begin with the basics – name writing, color word writing, number writing and more. They can also be completed through “shared writing,” where the student writes some and the teacher writes the student’s idea on the remaining line. Differentiated options are also included for advanced kindergarten writers as well as writers in first and second grade.

Happy Fall!
