Teacher friends, we are in the home stretch!  Next week, we begin the final quarter of the year and the countdown to summer begins!  If you are looking for some fun and engaging activities to get you through, I’ve got you covered!  In this post, I will share 7 Spring Bulletin Boards for Kindergarten or first grade.

All of these activities include a purposeful writing, reading, or math activity paired with a custom craft.  These displays are perfect for Open House or Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences.

7 Spring Bulletin Boards for Kindergarten and First Grade

  1.  APRIL SHOWERS WRITING AND CRAFTSpring Bulletin Board for Open House

First on the list is my April Showers bulletin board set that features raindrop writing templates, blank raindrops for a directed drawing, and umbrella templates.  Have your students write about something they would do on a rainy day.  I have the kids do a watercolor wash on their raindrops.  All the details are included in the product download.

2.  IT’S RAINING TEN! MATH NUMBER DECOMPOSITION RESOURCE AND CRAFT

“It’s Raining Ten.  Hallelujah, It’s Raining Ten!”  Sorry, I couldn’t resist – teacher humor!   This rainy day April activity is perfect for teaching number decomposition.  It’s aligned with the Common Core Standard of making a ten.  Students may use any combination to compose ten and write a matching equation.

 3.  BE THE RAINBOW IN SOMEONE ELSE’S CLOUD

Rainbow Crafts

This colorful craftivity is one of my favorites.  I teach my students about Maya Angelou during Women’s History Month.  We watch her “Be the Rainbow” video on YouTube and discuss ways that we could “Be the rainbow in someone else’s cloud.”  A lot of my customers have used this set for teaching kindness in the classroom.  Editable name clouds, craft templates, and lettering are included.

4.  EARTH DAY ACROSTIC POEM AND CRAFT

Earth Day Distance Learning

Next up is “We’ve got the whole world in our hands!”  This resource is great for introducing acrostic poems.  Have your students complete the poem and paint or color the Earth.   I attached pictures of my students holding the world as shown above.  They loved this!

5.  EARTH DAY LORAX INSPIRED WRITING AND CRAFT

Lorax Writing

The Lorax is always a great read for Earth Day.  After reading your purchased copy, have your students write a persuasive piece on why it’s important to save the trees.

6.  MAY 3D TULIPS WRITING AND CRAFT

These 3D Tulips will not disappoint.  I have used these in the windows and on the kids’ lockers.  They add so much color and happiness to your space.  They also incorporate writing in the stem.
