Are you looking for St. Patrick’s Day Ideas for Kindergarten, first grade, or second grade? If so, you’ve come to the right place!  In this post, I’ll share my favorite activities that I have used in my own classroom to integrate St. Patrick’s Day into the curriculum.

Most of these resources discussed in this post are included in my St. Patrick’s Day MEGA Bundle!  Let’s dive into the components of all the leprechaun and rainbow goodness that this holiday bundle includes…

1.   St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow and Pot of Gold Bundle

First, this rainbow and pot of gold craft and writing is a must-do activity!  This package includes all you see in the preview photo: Pot of Gold Template Choices, Cloud Template Choices, Gold Coins, Rainbow Template (color, paint, or dot art), Blank Writing templates and writing prompts.  Simply print and go!

Teacher Tip: I use t-pins to hang these onto my boards as shown and hang them so that the rainbow pops out giving a 3-D effect.
This board turned out so colorful, and it just makes me happy looking at it!

2.  How to Catch a Leprechaun Bulletin Board Bundle

Pot of Gold Writing
Next, have your students work on procedural writing as they create plans on how to catch a leprechaun!  This bundle includes all you need to create the perfect St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Display as shown below the rainbows.  Differentiated flip book templates for Kindergarten, first, and second grade writers are included PLUS graphic organizers and BONUS Trapped Leprechaun Craft!
These St. Patrick’s Day How to Catch a Leprechaun Writing Flip Books are a great way to introduce sequence and procedural writing in kindergarten or first grade!

The St. Patrick’s Day Writing Packet includes:
2 graphic organizers, choice of 3 covers, choice of primary or regular lined paper formats, and BONUS Leprechaun Adjectives Page!
In addition to the original file, updated bulletin board letters have been added to the resource to complete your display.  You’ll also find a one-page writing format if you don’t have time for the flip books.  Take a look at how this resource looks with the one page option and new display letters…
St. Patrick's Day Bulletin Board
My kindergarteners really enjoyed creating their plans to trap a leprechaun.  I was amazed at how well they did using sequential terms!

3.  Shamrock Writing

Another print-and- go St. Patrick’s Day themed resource:  NO PREP Shamrock Writing Templates.  They are perfect for a quick writing lesson during the week leading up to the holiday.

Six differentiated writing templates are included.  I print these onto green card stock and have students complete the prompt and cut out the shamrock.  I hang these on the windows in my room.

4.  St. Patrick’s Day Writing Prompts

In addition to bulletin board craftivities, these no-prep writing prompts are great to have on hand for the week of St. Patrick’s Day.  This writing prompt package includes 8 sentence starter writing prompts in 2 formats. Use the included journal cover and combine pages into a book, or use the pages as individual sheets for a writing center, morning work, or writing workshop! Perfect for beginner writers in kindergarten and first grade.

5.  Leprechaun Traps

Lastly, this FREEBIE ties in perfectly with the sequence writing mentioned earlier.  These traps are simply PRINT AND GO!  My kinders LOVE creating these every year, and yours will too!
