Why the best bulletin boards are those created by your students…
If you follow my blog, you know I love to decorate. My classroom is my second home during the school year, and I like to make it beautiful and functional. My favorite bulletin board displays though aren’t store bought sets. Rather, they are student created. Don’t get me wrong – I love purchasing sets for all of my essentials including my birthday board, alphabet, and number posters. Yet, you won’t see this teacher buying a holiday or seasonal set. Why buy when you can have your pint-sized Picassos create purposeful writing pieces or math activities paired with custom crafts to match!
Bulletin Boards Boosting Confidence
When my students see their work displayed, they get so excited. They love seeing their work in action! It gives them a sense of ownership and helps build confidence in their ability. The kids always try their very best when I tell them I am going to hang their finished products for students, parents, and teachers to see. At Open House, my kinders take their parents on a scavenger hunt showing them all of their creations. It melts my heart seeing how proud they are of all of their accomplishments.
