It’s December, and the countdown to the holiday break is on!  It’s that time of year when I ask a question and the response I get begins with “My elf…”  The kids are getting restless and so are we!  It’s the perfect time for more holiday art projects, and this is one of my favorites!  In this post, I will share gingerbread activities for Kindergarten that your kids will love!

Gingerbread Activities for Kindergarten

Gingerbread Writing and Math

My Gingerbread resource includes everything you need to integrate writing or math with art and fine motor skills.  You will get all of your craft templates, differentiated writing templates, and the Making a Ten math page.  Simply print and let your students do the rest!  Bulletin board lettering options are included as well to complete your holiday display.

Gingerbread Men Make a Ten Bulletin Board

Gingerbread Bulletin Board

In math, we have studied the different combinations that make ten.  So, this activity was great for reinforcing what my kids have learned.  I had the kids complete the gingerbread cutting when they arrived.  We completed the page in a small group, and we put everything together.  Their favorite part was painting the icing!  The gumdrop lettering was the perfect finishing touch for this meaningful math holiday display!

How to Make a Gingerbread Man Writing

If you prefer, a writing option is included for students to write about the steps to create a gingerbread man using the terms “first, next, then, and last.”  The craft is the same as above.  You simply swap out the page in the center.  You can always do both options!
