Welcome to my 2024 Classroom Reveal. This year’s decor is full of purposeful visuals, composition notebook elements, and varsity letters in a colorful, yet calming design. One of my goals this year was to declutter and organize. I donated boxes full of old toys and games that my kids no longer used, and I feel like I have so much more room now. Black space is intentionally left in the room. You’ll notice that I did not cover every inch or wall. Instead, I focused on decorating with PURPOSE. The decor is my room provides meaningful visuals for my students to use in their daily learning. In this post, I’ll share exactly what that looks like in my kindergarten classroom. Here are all the details about my Composition Notebook Classroom Theme…
Most of the decor and bulletin boards set shared in this post can be found in my Composition Notebook Classroom Decor Growing Bundle.
The Hallway
Here’s how I decorated my kindergarten hallway to welcome the Class of 2037. I used the “Welcome” letters from my Welcome to Kindergarten Composition Notebook Bulletin Board.
One on of the boards, I displayed this Welcome to Kindergarten Varsity Glitter Bulletin Board shown below…
I designed this Welcome Class of 2037 Bulletin Board shown above for another hallway bulletin board.
The families on Meet the Teacher Night loved this In Our Kindergarten Era Bulletin Board, and it made the perfect photo backdrop!
These Editable Composition Notebook Locker Tags printed out perfectly, and they were a hit with the kids!
The Classroom
Now that you’ve seen the hallways displays, let’s step inside my classroom and take a look around.
Varsity Patch Welcome to Kindergarten Bulletin Board
First, let’s take a look at one of my favorite displays. I shared this Welcome to Kindergarten Varsity Patch Bulletin Board on my Instagram and TikTok last week, and so many of you asked for the details. This resource prints out beautifully. Each varsity patch letter is designed on a composition style notepad. I displayed this at the top of my main board, and it looks amazing!
Composition Notebook Bulletin Board
Next, we have this decor is by the amazingly talented Schoolgirl Style. I purchased the composition notebook bulletin board paper from Amazon. I love the cute apple and accents in this set!
Birthdays Bulletin Board
My Composition Notebook Birthdays Set printed out perfectly. The presents almost look 3D! The “BIRTHDAYS” header is designed on mini-composition notepads. I use mini-clothespins to write the kids’ names and birthdays, and I attach them to their birthday month.
Calendar Board
My calendar space is where the magic happens! Here is my Calendar Set, Flip Calendar, Days of School, and Number Line (all sold separately in my TPT Store or Website Shop OR in the Composition Notebook Bundle). We use these calendar components daily to teach number sense, patterning, place value, and addition and subtraction.
Affirmation Station
An Affirmation Station is a wonderful addition to any classroom. It’s great for teaching children the importance of positive self-talk through daily affirmations.
We Put the Kind in KINDergarten Bulletin Board
Another one of my favorite parts of this classroom makeover is this We Put the Kind in KINDergarten Bulletin Board. This board was designed to go along with my children’s book, We Put the Kind in Kindergarten, which you can find on Amazon.
I often get asked about my floating bookshelves. My dad build these out of rain gutters a few summers ago. CLICK HERE for all the details about my Rain Gutter Book Shelves.
Crayons Color Word Wall
Last on the list is my Crayons Color Word Wall. I left this up from last year on one of my long walls between my windows. These Jumbo Crayons measure about 16 inches and feature a print style font. The resource includes a color words worksheet as well. This is a display that my students reference quite often in their daily writing.
Classroom Organization
Now that you’ve seen the decor, let’s talk all things organization. Really Good Stuff is my go-to for classroom organization. Save $10 on $50 with promo code KORNER10
On my tables, I use these neon caddies to sort student supplies. Since my tables do not have storage, these Chair Pockets come in so handy for helping my students stay organized.
These picture books bins have removable dividers to separate books or supplies into three sections.
Additionally, I use the smaller chapter book bins for my leveled books.
Classroom Rugs
After having the same rug for years, I added two new rugs (linked below) to my classroom this year. These were purchased with a generous gift card from last year’s class as an end of year gift and I added in some of my TPT earnings to cover the rest. They make the whole room brighter!
Overall, I hope this post has inspired you to create your own magical space for your students. If you enjoyed this post and love classroom decor as much as I do, visit the MY CLASSROOM section of the blog for more ideas.
