Whether you’re a brand new teacher decorating your classroom for the first time or a seasoned veteran looking to spice up your space, I’ve got you covered!  Last summer, I designed a new decor line for my own kindergarten classroom, and it turned out better than I ever imagined.   I love it so much that I am sticking with my Varsity Composition Notebook Classroom Theme next school year, and I’ll be adding even more resources to this collection.  In this post, I’m sharing all the details.  Let’s dive in!

The Vision

This classroom decor collection combines elements of varsity letters with composition notebook accents.  It’s colorful, yet calming.  The resources are purposeful in that they provide students with meaningful visuals they will reference often in their daily learning.  Take a look at how I transformed my classroom with the Varsity Composition Notebook Classroom Theme.  These resources are available sold separately, or you can save big with the BUNDLE!

Welcome Bulletin Boards

This collection includes a plethora of welcome bulletin boards for the beginning of the year, Back to School season, or anytime of year.

Welcome to Kindergarten

I displayed this Welcome to Kindergarten set above the main bulletin board in my classroom.  I also printed out a second set of the “welcome” letters, and arranged them vertically outside my door as shown below.  Both signs are displayed all year long.

Welcome Sign for 1st through 8th Grades

You asked, and we answered!  The requests have been pouring in for a similar resource for other grade levels.  This brand new bulletin board kit includes options for creating the welcome sign for 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade as pictured here.  Please note that the colors and options are exactly as is.  Customizations or changes cannot be made prior to or after purchasing.  Thank you for understanding!

Welcome Class of Bulletin Board

This is the perfect beginning of the year bulletin board.  In kindergarten, I display this in my hallway at the beginning of the year.  It was the perfect photo backdrop for Meet the Teacher Night.  So many of my families took photos with their little ones in front of this display.  What a great photo keepsake to have for when these kids are seniors in high school!  The resource includes numbers to create a Class of display for any year.  For example, you could use the current year, such as Welcome Class of 2026, or the year your students will graduate.

Editable Locker Tags, Folder Covers, or Binder Window Covers

These editable locker tags go perfectly with the theme, and the kids love them!  I added my students’ names and printed them at 75 percent.  I printed a second set at 100 percent and used them in the clear window of their take home folders.  You could also use them as a binder cover.  The possibilities are endless!

Birthday Bulletin Board

A birthday bulletin board is essential in primary classrooms, and this one will not disappoint!  These birthday presents almost look 3D when printed.  I attach mini-clothespins with my kids’ names and birthdays and clip them right onto the month.

Calendar Components

Calendar is one of the most important parts of our day.  These elements were designed with that in mind.  This photo shows four of the calendar resources: the hanging flip calendar, the large classroom calendar, the place value poster, and the large number line.  These are all included in the Varsity Composition Notebook Classroom Theme Bundle, and each is also sold separately.

The Affirmation Station

Affirmation Stations are a wonderful way to encourage positive self-talk.  I do an SEL lesson about affirmations at the beginning of the year.  It makes my teacher heart so happy when I see the kids look in the mirror and give themselves a compliment!

Amazing Work Coming Soon

Here’s another idea for the beginning of the year or Back to School.  I know I’m always on the hunt for an easy prep display for our Meet the Teacher Night or simply to have something on the board until I have student work to display.  This “Amazing Work Coming Soon” print and go bulletin board kit was designed with these needs in mind, and we think it looks pretty amazing!

Composition Notebook Large Bulletin Board Letters

Another resource created for teacher needs are these large printable bulletin board letters.  The set below includes two font styles.  The letters print full page for you to create any custom saying for your bulletin boards.  If you need smaller letters, you simply adjust your print settings when printing from Adobe.  To do this, change the “scale” option from “100” percent to your desired size.  You could try “50” first, and go from there adjusting the scale to fit your needs.

There’s also a black and white composition notepad with letters included as seen below.

2D Shapes Bulletin Board

Did I mention I’m all about purposeful decor? These math posters provide the perfect visuals for my students as we begin our geometry unit.

3D Shapes Bulletin Board

Similarly, the 3D Shapes posters are great environmental print for my students when we begin our Solids Unit in math!

Number Posters

Adding to the math decor, these number posters are another teaching tool your students will look to often.  Number formation is challenging in kindergarten, especially at the beginning.  Reversals are so common, but these posters have helped my kids remember which way to form certain numbers.  I recommend printing an extra set to use for a Play-Doh Number Formation Center.  Have students roll the Play-Doh and place it on the number.  They should also say the number name, and count the dots touching each dot to work on 1:1 correspondence.

Realistic Photographs Bulletin Board

Science of Reading (SOR) aligned with realistic photographs, these printable alphabet posters will create an instant beautiful alphabet board.  Again, I recommend printing an extra set and laminating them for a Play-Doh Letter Center.  Students roll the Play-Doh and place it on top of the letters.  They have to name the letter and its sound.
