This Earth Day Read and Write the Room resource is perfect for emerging readers and writers in Kindergarten or First Grade.

 

This resource includes:

12 Earth Day Words Picture Cards, A Recording Sheet Bonus Color, and Write Earth Day Worksheets for Early Finishers

 

Here’s how it works:

Students travel around the room with clipboards and recording sheets searching for the picture clues. As they find each picture clue, they record the word next to the matching picture on the worksheet. Early finishers can choose from the 6 bonus color and write Earth Day printables.

 

Additional ideas for Literacy Center activities using the picture cards:

Memory – Print two sets of cards. Place cards face down. Have students take turns finding matching cards reading the picture words as they go.

Pocket Chart Writing Center – Create a Writing Center by placing these cards in a pocket chart or on a clothesline on a bulletin board. The cards provide environmental print and a point of reference for students writing independent sentences.
