Halloween is right around the corner.  If you are a kindergarten or first grade teacher, this writing craftivity is perfect for getting your kids excited about the holiday!  This activity integrates art, writing, and fine motor skills to create a Fa-BOO-lous Halloween Bulletin Board!

This resource was actually inspired by my 11 year-old daughter, who wanted to create her second TPT product.  We went through the design process together, and she did an amazing job!  She’s using her earnings to buy her own Christmas gifts for her family and best friends this year.  She has a heart of gold, and I’m so proud to be her Mommy.

What’s included in the Halloween Bulletin Board…

This resource includes the following:

•4 Choices of Black & White Ghost Templates (for top of flip craft) – I let my students choose their templates for the top!

•5 Choices of K-2 Differentiated Writing Templates (for bottom of flip craft) – Choose which works best for your students!

•Black & White or Colored Bulletin Board Lettering that reads “FA-BOO-LOUS WORK”

A lesson plan and teacher tips are provided as well!

Creating your Fa-BOO-lous Bulletin Board

I copied an equal amount of the different ghost templates onto Astrobrights.  You can always copy them onto white card stock, but I thought the bright ghosts would be cute!  The students cut both the ghost template and the writing template for the flip craft.  The kids used markers to color the bows, bowties, and mustaches on their ghosts.  I helped them complete the writing in small groups by sounding out what they were “fa-boo-lous” at.  They had so much fun.  I love purposeful activities that make learning enjoyable.  Not to mention, it made the perfect display!
