Welcome to my 2023 Kindergarten Classroom Reveal! This year, I wanted to design my own classroom theme. If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know I like a colorful classroom for my young learners. My vision for this classroom decor was to keep the colors but soften them a bit to create a calm, inviting learning environment. I’m excited to share with you my Watercolors Classroom Theme! Step into my classroom and take a look around…

Kindergarten Classroom Reveal
Many resources shared in this post can be found in my Watercolors Classroom Theme Package. This is sold as a bundle. However, you may purchase any item individually as well.
The Feature Wall
Let’s begin in the front of my room, which I like to make into my feature wall. I mounted my Watercolors Kindergarten Letters onto Schoolgirl Style Notepads for the perfect bulletin board header.
This is the space the students see when they sit at the carpet and their table seats. When designing my space, I like to include purposeful classroom decor here that we reference daily. Here you will find our calendar, months of the year, Days of School Place Value, number line, and the alphabet along with inspirational decor.
The Calendar
In my calendar area, I have my Watercolors Flip Calendar, my Large Calendar with numbers, and my Days of School Place Value Poster. The Flip Calendar has been one of my favorite additions to this space. I purchased this magnetic curtain rod and hung the days, months, numbers, and years with 1.5 inch binder rings. The Days of School poster is great for introducing place value, number composition, and number decomposition. Along the bottom of the board, you will see the Watercolors Number Line that we use often during calendar time and throughout our day.
Calendar is one of the most important parts of our day. You can read more about how we make the most of calendar time HERE.
Birthdays and Months of the Year
In addition to a great calendar space, a birthday months bulletin board is a must have for every elementary classroom. The kids love seeing their birthdays displayed, and it also helps young students learn the months of the year. I love how this Birthday Cupcakes Bulletin Board turned out! Here, I used the Birthdays watercolors banner. There are also other bulletin board headers included.
Inspirational Quotes for the Classroom
On the right side of the feature wall, I designed this inspirational quote bulletin board that reads, “In this classroom, you are loved.” So many kids had their picture taken in front of this board at Meet the Teacher Night, and it made a great photo backdrop.
Shapes Posters for Kindergarten
Next, let’s take a virtual walk around the classroom. I displayed these 2D Shapes Posters on my cabinets. I chose to use a readable font when designed this resource and others in the product line. These posters provide environmental print students may reference as we begin our geometry unit in math. I will later add the 3D Shapes Posters when I introduce those.
Color Word Wall Featuring Jumbo Crayons
Continuing on our virtual classroom tour, our Jumbo Crayons Color Word Wall is our next stop. These 17 inch crayons look absolutely amazing. The large size and easy-to-read font will help children learn to recognize and write color words. I highly recommend this classroom decor set for any early elementary classroom.
Number Posters
Just as shapes and color words are essential for kindergarten, number posters are equally important. These Watercolors Number Posters feature a large print style number, the numeric word, and a ten frame representation. They come in full page or half-page sizes.
Affirmation Station
Let’s move on to my new Affirmation Station. This is the first year I have used this, and I’m obsessed. I love how this little area promotes self love with all the positive affirmations displayed around the mirror. Take a look at how it came out, and read more about it HERE.
Kindness Bulletin Board
The final stop on the classroom tour is my book nook where I displayed this kindness bulletin board. Please note: This resource is not in the watercolors bundle. My We Put the Kind in Kindergarten resource has been updated to include this new color option. I’m loving how the new version coordinates with the Watercolors decor in my classroom!
Hallway Kindergarten Bulletin Boards
I also wanted to give you a peek into my hallway. These are the two boards I displayed at the beginning of the school year to welcome my students and their families on Meet the Teacher Night.
The top photo is my Welcome to Kindergarten Varsity Glitter Bulletin Board. The second photo is my Taylor Swift themed Kindergarten Era Bulletin Board. These boards also made for great photo backdrops!
That’s a wrap on my 2023 virtual classroom tour. I hope you love it as much as I do! Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Be sure to follow along on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube for classroom tour videos coming soon! Thanks for reading.
