May Resources for Kindergarten

May Resources for Kindergarten

The toughest year of teaching is winding down.  If the last thing you want to do is plan for the last full month, I’m here to help.  I have bundled some of my top-selling end of the year activities into my May Mega Bundle.  Scroll down to learn more about these no and low prep May resources for Kindergarten…

1.  Writing Journals

May Journals for Kindergarten

My monthly writing journals have been a life-saver this year.  I have used these remotely and in the classroom.  My kids know these prompts are part of our daily routines.  No matter how busy we get, we write every single day thanks to having these journals handy.

2.  Butterflies Word Families

Butterfly Word Families

This is one of my favorite spring activities.  My Butterflies Word Families resource includes 28 word families in two differentiated formats.  This makes a beautiful bulletin board.  I also like to print an extra set onto Astrobrights, laminate the sheets, and use them as a writing / phonics center.

3.  Mother’s Day Magazine

Mother's Day Magazines

Create the cutest keepsake for your students’ mothers this year.  This resource includes a four page magazine spread featuring cover options, an interview, a writing prompt, and a special poem.  Additional wording options are included to use in lieu of “mom” if needed.

4.  End of the Year Writing Flip Books

End of the Year Writing Kindergarten

Have your students reflect on the school year by creating these keepsake flip books accompanied with a custom craft to match.  My kids have loved this end of the year project in the past, and I can’t wait to do it with this year’s group!

5.  Diving Into First Grade Scuba Craft

How cute is this one?!  We have an annual Beach Day.  After a fun day of outside games, we finish the day with this activity.   The kids write about what they will do in first grade.  They color the scuba diver to look like themselves.  I usually send these home because there aren’t many days left at this point.  However, it would make the cutest bulletin board!

6.  Kindergarten Graduation Craftivity

Kindergarten Graduation Craft

While in-person graduation ceremonies may be on hold this year, this craft would be a great one to do at the end of kindergarten!  CLICK HERE for ideas for a VIRTUAL GRADUATION!

7.  May Math Journals

May Math Journal

My May Bundle has recently been updated to include a May Math Journal.  This resource includes 20 pages of math activities that focus on counting on by ones, fives, and tens, addition with ten frames, subtraction using a number line, story problems, place value, and number decomposition.  Complete a page a day, and you’ve got math for the month!

I hope this post has given you some inspiration to finish the year strong!  You can purchase these activities sold separately or save when purchasing the May MEGA Bundle.
