You know that I love a good craft and bulletin board display, and this post is all about one of my absolute favorites! This 3D tulips craft, writing, and bulletin board is the perfect activity for the first day of spring.
3D Tulips Craft
Here’s what’s included in this spring resource differentiated for students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade:
- 6 differentiated tulip writing templates to meet your emerging or advanced writers’ needs
- 3D Tulip Craft
- Teacher Tips for assembly
- Bulletin board letters in black and white and NEW color letters that read, “Spring has sprung!”
Creating your 3D Tulips
Prior to beginning this craft, I like to begin by reading a spring story. You can choose whatever story you like. I show the kids the craft example. Together, we make an anchor chart with a list of responses to the writing prompt, “Spring is…” Students move to their seats, and I pass out the tulips stems. They cut them out, and complete the writing prompt as I walk around the room providing assistance if needed.
Once all the kids have completed the writing in the stem portion, it’s time to make the 3D tulips. To do so, you’ll follow the step-by-step directions included in the file. Take a look at how they turned out last spring in my kindergarten…
Creating Your Spring Bulletin Board or Window Display
Your finished tulips will look amazing wherever you decide to display them!
Some years, I have placed them in the windows.
Other years, I have used them on lockers. They really pop when you look at them as you walk down the hallway!
Here’s how they look on a bulletin board.
